Although I gave myself a ridiculously late, 5am bedtime last night, things aren't going badly today. My Alexa alarm went off at 8am and I didn't curse her. Just jumped out of bed like a man on a mission; a man on a mission for strong coffee, that is ☕️
So far I've picked the kids up from their sleepover at 9:30am and had the whole house cleaned and tidied by 11'ish, aaaaaand spoken to my wife via video message while she's working in Singapore for the week. Now, thanks to some amazing time management on my part, I have the entire rest of the day to do writing ✍️ and family time. So where am I? In front of the computer sorting out driver updates. This always happens to me. I get all excited and completely forget about the constraints of reality! On top of this, I still have some bits to fix on my website which will probably take me at least an hour or so. Then I'll write the shit out of a story I'm working on. At least that's the plan. I'm also planning on introducing my kids to 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan,' today. We just recently watched the original episode, 'Space Seed' on Netflix so they know where Kirk is with the whole Khan situation; they also loved the episode by the way 😂
So I t's a big day as you've probably guessed, but I will fit writing into it somehow. It's a massive hobby of mine, so once I'm, "In the zone" so to speak, I'll commit myself to an hour with an alarm. If it goes really well I may extend the time. If not? Well, at least I did an hour. My only issue, and it's a self inflicted one, is that my Friday night/Saturday morning T.V binge has left me running on empty. I'm literally my own worst enemy/Genius level procrastinator 🙄
