I've just published my new book 'Rot' and waiting anxiously for the book reviews to happen. To be honest, I love the whole process of creating a book and seeing it publishing, who wouldn’t, right?

I'm by no means a successful writer, far from it. But that never seems to stop me; I just seem to have enjoyed creating stories my whole life, and think I’ll always write regardless.

So here I am again, I've spent a year, on and off, writing 'rot'. Initially this story was supposed to be a short story, about a thousand words, for my followers on my Facebook page ‘Imaginarium Sanitarium’, but I got carried away, which is also my way and the book practically wrote itself which is what you want to hear when you’re writing a horror story.

What I do find funny about writing horror, especially something as dark as rot, is that you have to dig quite deep into your darkest self and try and imagine what would terrify you. It can be quite depressing when you’re actually writing it. But at the end of the day, and what keeps me going, is the idea that perhaps it might actually scare someone and give someone nightmares or a rough sleep. It’s a lot of fun to try and write something to actually scare someone else. Recommend that you actually give it a go and see what you come up with!

So when Rot was all finished, I decided that what I wanted to do was get it published by a proper professional publishing team and I put the feelers out and found The Book Guild in Leicestershire and they read it and thought that they would give me a chance, so here I am. I’m not gonna lie, it cost a little bit of money to get the ball rolling, but it does take a lot of pressure off me so I can still enjoy writing. I can still enjoy doing what I love without the hassle of the business side of which I am not very good. I think I’m a terrible business man. It’s complicated and dull haha

So far the book seems to have done very well for my standards. I’ve self published all my other books and I’ve done fairly well, but not enough to quit my day job. However, I’m really hoping that this one will hit the ground running and from the reviews people giving it, the public are liking. So that is a positive and if you have got yourself a copy of Rot, I would love to hear from you and then, hopefully I can write some more fun stories, especially if I know what you like.

Well, that’s all from me for now. If you’d like to know more, just let me know and I'll may write a follow up blog. In the mean time, have fun in all that you do and good luck 😉
